In Memory of Cecile Lax

Cecile was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and grew up in France. As a teenager, she emigrated with her mother and father to Canada. As a young adult, she moved to Los Angeles, and worked in a variety of fields, from the Jay Ward's animation studio, to construction/development, and as a publicist. In her later years, she worked as a technical writer.
After a relatively brief time in Northern California, Cecile moved to San Diego to be with her ailing father. After his passing, she decided to make San Diego her home, and enjoyed her time with her French club.
While Cecile never had biological children, she was beloved by many, as a second mother to them. Cecile did have many fur babies over the years, showing such kindness and patience, turning even the most scared critters into the sweetest pets.
Always very spiritual, she was involved with the new age movements in the 70s and 80s, and loved to make astrology and numerology charts.
Cecile used to joke that time always ran differently for her. You could lose touch for a few months or years, then talk to her again as if no time has passed. I'd like to think that we'll see her again in the afterlife, and simply resume our conversations once again, with a big hug and some coffee or wine.
